Kambala is a mobile phone concept designed by Ilshat Garipov which can be transformed into an earphone. With it, you do not need to carry your headset around or worst you forgotten to bring one out. So, with this Kambala, you can just pop the center piece and the earpiece clip pings out, clip it to your ear and you’ve got yourself a phone-earphone. It features multilayered Polymer which hosts all the electronic components is used in its construction and a continuous flexi-screen with plenty of sensors makeup the surface and capable of transmiting the image on the inside of the phone to the outside. I generally do not cover “concept” projects because I profoundly believe that all interactive prototypes should be made (and working to some degree). But this particular project, Thimble, a collaboration between Artefact and  Industrial Design Department at the University of Washington, is quite provocative and certainly worth sharing with the FT community.


Created by Erik Hedberg and Zack Bennet, Thimble is a wearable finger glove that gives the visually impaired access to ambient information. Watch the video narrative above to see how it is envisioned to work.

The idea for sustainable shopping was developed through studying shopping patterns, informational needs, and psychological aspects. This handheld device will now compare nutritional values and the sustainability of the product you decided to buy. Aside from those functions, it can also be used as your shopping lists, a price checker, and a digital map as it overlays your grocery store’s layout and plots out everything that is listed on your shopping lists. With these features, this device will surely saves your time when shopping.

One of the main advantages of OLED is that it can be flexible—so flexible, in fact, that it can be wrapped around a pencil. Taking 2007′s .3mm prototype Sony’s made a new one just 80μm-thick.
That’s about ten times the size of a red blood cell, or just a tiny bit thinner than a single hair. The whole OLED measures 4.1-inches in size, and has a 432 x 240 resolution and a contrast ratio of under 1,000:1.
It’s another world first, boasting that it’s the first time an OLED panel can still stream video while being rolled up (around a cylinder with a 4mm radius) and stretched.

This 3D hologram video just makes me want to have a desktop like this.
When you’re not using it, it works as a desk lamp.

Bring the black curtain down so that the hologram can be seen more clearly in front of you.
There are tiny projectors installed, giving off 3D hologram in front of the curtain.


A browser window can be resized by actually “pinching” and dragging the tab at bottom right.

It would be fun if a document could be made as if you were using a typewriter. The curled paper hologram comes out of the keyboard.

Touching the 3D objects would be really fun. Dragging, throwing, resizing, etc., but crushing paper to dispose it would be the most interesting.

A multifunction Smartphone entertainment device that can be worn on ones wrist. The device is pretty minimalistic and it seems to have a touchscreen and a very interesting rotating button with unknown purpose. This is a mere design of the Nokia watch phone, but this thing is pretty massive in size. It is likely that there will be full HD video playback, some nifty games, augmented reality, wireless interaction with headphones and other Nokia cellphones, plus a lot of battery life and a powerful speaker. Also, a ton of sports applications and health features must be included for this to be a viable bracelet and considering its close to your pulse, it’s pretty easy to keep up with your health.

Each ‘aeroshot’ contains 100 mg of caffeine, the same amount that is in a large cup of coffee. to use the device,one pulls on the lower, yellow-green section to extend it and inhales through the slit on the other end. pushing the sections back together closes the device, so that users can determine how much caffeine to intake at any given time (each ‘aeroshot’ offers six to eight ‘puffs’ in all, for the total of 100mg). liquid-free, the device bypasses TSA regulations for flight travel.

Auctus Mobile is a groundbreaking new design that would allow users an unprecedented level of handset customization options via an innovative manufacturing process. The Auctus Mobile phone is primarily created to free users from having to buy new handsets as and when their cellphones become obsolete or when a component of their phone needs an upgrade. The Auctus handset would allow users to upgrade certain parts of the product rather than replace the handset itself. An Expansion pack would house the hardware components like cameras which can be upgraded individually according to availability and user desire. This means users desire a high quality camera but want to keep the data of the internal memory of the same phone can do so. Utilizing Design for Disassembly (DfD), Upgrading and Upcycling creates a better alternative to the current manufacturing standards of mobile phone production and upgrading your handset.

Its weight is about one kilogram with 750W of power.  This mini vacuum cleaner can do your job very swiftly and easily. It even reaches those places where a regular vacuum cleaner is unable to provide its access. In order to allow such kind of flexibility in this mini vacuum cleaner’s design, there is an elastic tube that has been used. The elastic tube’s length can be stretched from 25 cm to 80 cm that can help the device reach distant and corner places.

In addition to the above special features, Settebello II offers two different attachments that can serve under varied cleaning conditions. There is also a special filter that helps creating air flow in a particular manner. That way, the filter is able to separate the heavy dust from other kinds of particles and materials. Energy-saving watch that is powered entirely by solar light! The Solar OLED Watch crafted using organic light-emitting diodes i.e., OLEDs, the watch is relatively earth-friendly right from its construction. The next step in its Eco-friendliness is, of course, the fact that it bypasses the regular Li-Ion battery in favor of a solar-powered power-up option that ensures that the watch stays powered up without using any chemical batteries. Touch-enabled watch face only activates when the user touches it and shuts down when not in use. Though the function may appear to be of mot much consequence for an individual user, it does become pretty incredible when one considers the amount of energy saved and light pollution prevented with the function if every human being on the planet wore a watch like this!   

The flexible design of the Solar OLED watch allows it to be worn on the wrist or on one’s coats and jackets and it can just as easily be fitted to the body of any other fabric or equipment to fashion a clock for many people to use.

Wrist watch that mimics an hourglass, called Liquid Time or you can also mention it as “From Nowhere to Nowhere”. Beautifully constructed from 2 specially crafted LCD screens, Liquid Time also features creative typography that forms the numbers to tell the time. No any buttons, wonder how to setup the time or try to illuminate the numbers? The sleek and stylish metal body offers 3 different colors: black, red and silver, it can be considered as a timepiece and jewelry in one. Interesting!

Lack of movement in the industrialized countries, the direct cause of many diseases. This can result in damage to the musculoskeletal system, as well as obesity and its consequences. Is it to encourage people to move in everyday life, which is the goal of every health care. If the office does not want to come to the stallion sports, sports, just come to the office!

The sporty looking office chair is inspired by the shape of the human body and functions as fully functioning workout station. The handles of the Fit@Work fitness chair can be used from time to time to stretch the upper body and to train the arms. The core of the chair is fitted with five strong springs that provide a sturdy counterforce while working out. The sophisticated technology embedded within the armrests of the chair allows the users to use them as a rowing machine. This lets users train the chest and arm muscles without leaving their desks. An interesting idea!

Yoori Koo from South Korea has designed a PC, dubbed as Activator.
The designer anticipates that by 2020 every object around the globe will come wrapped with invisible smart particles over cloud computing. The pen-shaped device will be nothing less than a magic wand. Simply, draw the shape and the objects will be activated, and will be able to visualize “Digital Device Contents.” Each and every device of a graspable nature will be present as contents. The futuristic device will be easy to use and will make lives simpler.

All a user has to do is select a desired application that they wish to exploit. Now, draw the range of an object as per the purpose and the chosen device will be activated within the desired range. Wow! Activator will change the digital scene and make users live an enthralling experience.
